LiaLys prestige packaging
LiaLys makes a prestige hairpin. We designed a burgundy rigid box with a fitted insert and modeled the hairpin in 3D for product visuals.

The direction treats a small, everyday accessory as something closer to jewelry. Everything about the box is held back to a few elements, so the hairpin itself remains the reason to open it.
Brief
LiaLys makes a prestige hairpin, a tortoiseshell pin with a looped head and waved prongs. We were asked to design its rigid box and fitted insert, and to model the pin in 3D so product and pack could be shown together.
Challenge
A hairpin is small, so the box had to do a lot of talking without shouting over the product. The insert had to hold three pins exactly, protect them, and still look intentional when one pin is lifted out and an empty cavity is left behind.

Burgundy, texture and copper.
The box is wrapped in a deep burgundy with a soft, textured surface. Across the lid, a large monogram of interlacing loops is embossed tone on tone, so it appears mostly as light moves across it.
The LIALYS wordmark sits over the monogram in a high contrast serif, rendered in metallic copper, with Prestige Hairpin set beneath in small, widely spaced capitals. One color, one texture and one metal carry the whole identity.

Shaped around the product.
Inside, a burgundy tray holds three hairpins in cavities cut to the exact outline of the pin and lined in black, so the tortoiseshell stands out the moment the lid opens.
Short lines of copy in copper follow the curve of each cavity. The insert becomes part of the message instead of simple protection: once a pin is lifted out, the empty cavity, lined in black, still reads as part of the design.

Modeling the hairpin.
The hairpin was modeled in 3D with attention to what makes it recognizable: the looped head, the waved inner prongs and the depth of the tortoiseshell pattern. The model let us stage the product in low key, theatrical scenes, from close studies on velvet and stone to the pin resting in its box, all within the same burgundy world as the packaging.
Design Outcome
The burgundy box, the embossed monogram and the copper wordmark give a small object a real opening moment. The shaped insert makes the tortoiseshell stand out the second the lid lifts, and the empty space still looks like part of the design.
